Michelle Ward DwellNV Real Estate

Experience: 15 years Specializations: Negotiations, Relocations Areas Served: Reno / Tahoe / Incline Village Nevada   Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: When I was a child and we would drive by a home I liked I would try to calculate how much money I would need to earn per month in order to live in that particular house.  I would realize rather quickly that I wouldn’t be able to earn enough to buy the home, mainly because I was only ten.  Owning a home was always my dream, and it makes me so happy to be able to help others achieve that dream.  Purchasing and selling a home are important life events and I sincerely feel honored when someone entrusts me with the task. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: Once when I was holding an open house a very tall woman came in, she must have been 6’4 or so.  She was interesting at once.  She wanted to sit on the couch for a bit in order to “feel” if the house was for her.  Ok, go right ahead.  This went on for quite a while and as she sat I wondered how the home was “feeling” to her.  Eventually, she got up and wandered to the other rooms.  When she got to the bathroom she asked if she could sit in the tub.  Sit in the tub? I had to ask why.  She then explained that because she is so tall she wanted to make sure the bathtub fit her.  OK, sit in the tub.  While she sat in the tub I explained to her that if the tub didn’t fit her there was plenty of room in the bathroom to install a larger tub, and it likely wouldn’t cost much in the grand scheme of things if she liked overall how the house “feels” to her.  She came back several times to sit in the tub and eventually purchased the house. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: Often I become friends with clients, nothing makes me happier than that.  To me, it signifies that they trusted me, which is so important to me in this business. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: Every bit of what I know now!  One can only gain knowledge with experience in this business, it can’t be taught from a book. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: The weight of not wanting to let a client down. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: You will work every day!
