Dave Larsen Re/Max Partners

Experience: I've been licensed since 2000 helping home buyers, sellers and investors in Orange and Riverside Counties. Specializations: I am one of only a few Agents trained to help divorcing couples, and individuals who have inherited property  Areas Served: All of Orange County and the cities surrounding Corona in Riverside County Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I initially was doing a lot of day trading and wanted to invest in rental properties for my own portfolio. Once I got my license, I started having several friends and fellow investors asking if I could help them with their purchases and sales. I enjoyed working with people and helping them to reach their real estate goals so much that I kept working with new people and have reached achievements I hadn't thought of in the industry. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: I'm not sure anything that happens at an open house could ever be considered 'interesting', but I have met a lot of great people with whom I've become long time friends. I've helped them, and their friends and families. I've seen young couples become a family of 5, and large families whose kids have grown up and moved out to start a family of their own in their new home. It's probably the best and most satisfying part of what I do. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: So many things I could say. From seeing those young couples become growing families and get to be a part of their lives, to earning some of the industries’ highest awards and being ranked in the top 100 Re/Max agents in the United States, to being able to give back to great causes such as Project Kids and the Children's Miracle Network. But I may have to say the best thing that has happened to me since beginning my real estate career is meeting and marrying my wife in 2004. We worked together for 3 years before starting a relationship, but I knew she was the one and proposed after only 6 months. We were married one year to the day of our first date. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I'd have to say... EVERYTHING! That first year was a real test of my resolve. I had to learn about all the things that could create trouble during an escrow and how to help avoid them. I've learned a lot in the years since I received my license and have the experience now to be proactive when I see something that could become an issue, and take precautions to make sure they don't create problems for my clients. Having the knowledge and experience to represent my clients properly and in their best interest is the biggest asset I can offer them Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: I've seen values rise fast and fall even faster. I've seen the market rebound, and I've helped people dealing with foreclosure and short sales, divorce and tragedy. The industry is an ever changing entity. A part-time agent just doesn't have the time or ability to keep up with what's happening and is usually caught having to react to it rather than having the vision to plan for what is coming. That's why I committed to working in real estate as a full-time agent from the day I received my license. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: Time. Plain and simple. It takes a lot of coordination with buyers and sellers, lenders and escrow, marketing, showing appointments, inspections, repairs, documents, etc. to keep the wheels of a transaction spinning smoothly. It's my job to handle all of it while giving my clients the peace of mind to know I've got it all handled for them so they can just focus on their move. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: I love what I do!
