Q: What made you become interested in real estate?
A: I was always interested in meeting new people with different backgrounds. Real estate gave me the opportunity be in touch with interesting people for exchange of ideas and culture.

Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted?
A: In the beginning of my career when I was holding an open house, a family walked in and we started a conversation. They loved the house, which served their needs of upgrading to a bigger house. While they were there, I wrote the offer and presented it to the seller an hour later. Their offer got accepted and the next day we opened escrow. While in escrow, the buyers listed their own house with me, which also received an accepted offer the following week. Meanwhile, I worked with the seller of the first house to find their ideal house. In 45 days, all the 3 escrows almost concurrently closed and I ended up with good money in my saving account!

Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far?
A: During the foreclosure time around 2009, I met a family from India with whom I spent many hours to find a suitable deal. Finally, after writing almost 50 offers and devotedly working with them, I succeeded in finding a great house for them. From then on, we became friends. When their daughter was getting married in India, they invited me to her wedding. I traveled to India and had a memorable time during all the marriage ceremonies.

Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license?
A: As a salesperson, I had no clear goals or timeline for achieving my goals. Later on I learned, consistently, that real estate professionals who have a written business plan are more successful than people who don’t.

Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
A: The most challenging part of my job is keeping balance between my career and personal life. However, I am learning more about choosing my priorities.

Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say?
A: Creating enjoyable experience for client.
