A: My husband and I have been investing in real estate since early 80's. What better way to serve than become an agent/Realtor? Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A:  It is always interesting to me how all the neighbors find the time to come and see the open house to assess their home. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: One client told me, “no one helped me as much as you did to get my own home, you are the only one, I will never forget you. All because of you, I now have my dream home that my family can live in.” Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: How difficult it is to market yourself and your business to get in front of people, how intricate it is to write a contract that can be accepted, and how important it is to do the right thing when all odds are against you. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: It has changed so much it feels like I am not even in the same business any longer. When I started 11 years ago, in the real estate business, the short sales were starting, and they were so difficult to do. They still are, but they’re getting better. All the courses that I took to educate myself further into my career mentioned that if you can survive this market, you will survive any market and will be a great agent. I believed and persevered. Q: What's the most challenging part of your job? A: All aspects of this business is challenging. People think agents only open doors, show houses and hold open houses for them, but we do so much more and provide so much service, from writing an offer to closing, there is so much work that goes on. We do hundreds of tasks until we get a buyer or a seller to the closing table. From advertising and marketing, to writing contracts, to coordinating inspections and appraisals and coordinating with mortgage lenders and escrow and title officers. It is a very intense and involved business. I just hope people can understand and appreciate what we do in this information and technology age, with everything online. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Interesting, challenging, exciting, rewarding.
