Earl Forbes Coldwell Banker United

Experience: 7 years Specializations: I specialize in the Fort Bend and Brazoria county areas Areas Served: I work throughout the greater Houston area. Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I have always enjoyed sales and this was a great way to put customers in the home of their dreams, instead of me trying to put a particular product in front of my customers. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: We had a contest that gave everyone that came to the open house a chance to win $10,000 cash, that was definitely the most interesting. No one was able to crack the safe and win the prize but it was a fun way to get more exposure for our open house promotion. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: A client of mine recently came to me to find a lease property for him because his landlord was going to be raising the rent. We talked about it and eventually ended up finding him a brand new home that he was able to purchase for the same price as his rental. Now he is a proud homeowner building equity. He and his wife were so happy that I was able to secure the deal for them and walk them through the process step by step. It's stories like this that make it all worthwhile for me. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I wish I had known more about the credit process starting out. I would have been able to better navigate customers to the appropriate lender and closing table faster. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: The emergence of all the i-buyer companies out there has really exploded since I started selling real estate. I think these i-buyer companies give sellers the same options that they had before with private investors, but instead Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: Every deal creates new and unique challenges which is what I love most about this business but I would say the most challenging for me is constantly showing value as a Realtor. There is so much information out there now that you have to be very proactive with your customers so that they see you as a resource that is constantly providing relevant and valuable information. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Listen to your client’s needs.
