Julie Ingman CDA Properties

Experience: 5 years Specializations: First time buyers Areas Served: Salt Lake, Davis and Utah Counties Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: My dad has always made extra money throughout his life on Real Estate. He bought properties, held onto them for years and has either sold or rented them. I learned the value of Real Estate watching him and seeing the money he made after building equity. Even now as he is retired, his only income is from his rental houses that are paid off because others have paid his mortgage! Real estate is a great way to help families get ahead! Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A:   I often bake cookies and give them to people as they leave so the house will smell amazing and feel like home to them. I accidentally burned a batch during the open house which did the opposite! Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: I assisted a single mom of 4 boys get into a new home! She had been waiting nearly 10 years to afford a place of her own. She wanted a home so badly! We found her a grant to pay for her downpayment and I found her a home for the right price in the area she needed. Knowing I helped her with her dream of having a home for her and her boys was an amazing feeling! Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A:  I have learned that people do appreciate suggestions on what would make their home more appealing to buyers and help with a quicker sale!  Often it can feel uneasy to suggest that someone may need to declutter their home etc. but the benefits of making the home appealing to buyers is worth it and sellers usually appreciate the feedback. Usually a fresh set of eyes helps a lot! Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A:  The inventory of homes available is much less! However, I have learned there is no need to worry… just be on your toes and get out to the property quickly and it will work out! Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: Every transaction is unique and different challenges arise. Just keep on your toes and be prepared to handle whatever comes your way. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Motivating, Unpredictable, Inspiring, Exhausting, Rewarding.
