Melanie Stacel

Melanie Stacel Sun Realty Group, LLC

Experience: 18 years Specializations: Listing agent, pricing expert, luxury homes, property management Areas Served: We cover a 25 mi radius to our office in Frankfort, IL. This covers the Chicagoland area and most suburbs in Will and Cook county Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: A passion for construction, design and architecture.  I have been studying all facets of real estate for many years.  I have watched and absorbed market cycles over the years to help understand supply and demand of this industry.   Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A:   I wish I had an interesting story but other than meeting lots of great people I don't have any interesting stories.  Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A:  I have seen many tears of joy and frustration in this industry.  The ones that stand out are when I'm able to make a dream come true and when we are able to relieve the stress and burden from our clients’ shoulders.  Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A:   That it will take a lifetime to learn everything you need to in this industry. The piece of paper from the state doesn't even scratch the surface of the knowledge you need. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A:   I have seen the market rise and fall and slowly rise again as well as the move from paper to paperless systems.  In every market there are new creative ways of making money.  It’s quite fascinating to watch how people will persevere and real estate helps make all of that happen on a pretty large scale.  Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A:  Switching hats.  As a business owner and a managing broker you have to be a jack of all trades: sales, marketer, accountant, negotiator, supervisor. And you must think with a legal mind all at the same time.     Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A:  Knowledgeable, problem-solver, responsive, tenacious, engaging
