Q: What made you interested in Real Estate?

A: College Advisors and Past Employers

Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted?

A: Met a Movie Star from a popular HGTV show

Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far?

A: There are way too many to speak about but the most rewarding part of being in the real estate business is helping people achieve their goal of home ownership for themselves and their families. There are so many benefits to being a home owner and home owners contribution to our overall economy is great so when you are working with sellers and buyers, helping then achieve their goals you are also helping everyone in the community with their economic goals overall.

Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license?

A: How to create and read a profit and loss statement and how to invest in real estate with little to no money down.

Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started?

A: Technology has completely revamped the real estate business. When I started the offer to purchase was 2.5 pages long and people used a book - it looked like a black and white phone book - to look for new properties. Literally we shared 4 or 5 copies of this book between 80 or 90 people so everything took forever and these books were only updated 1 time per week. Today everything is real time. With everything online you have amazing amounts of information at the tip of your fingers and a typical transaction requires significantly more knowledge and tools for researching, but everything is done much quicker and the information is more accurate. Also staying in touch with past clients was a nightmare in the past because it was done by using index cards with contact information on them for everyone, we called it a Rolodex and everything was done by hand. Now we have a platform CRM and we market by touching our clients through email, text messaging, Slydialing them, calling them or snail mailing items to touch them roughly 3 times a month is pretty simple and fast. The cost has gone down significantly as well.

Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job?

A: Keeping up with the technology tools and getting the training that is needed to provide accurate information to our clients and potential clients. There are so many different companies and websites out there, mostly with inaccurate information. So keeping current and helping clients determine what is truth and what is nonsense is a large part of my job. In addition to the technology and information discernment challenges, we work with 4 or 5 times more clients at any given time than we have worked with in the past, primarily due to the ability to access important information and provide systems and processes for them to identify what they are looking for and what to do to sell their home for the best profit with the least hassle and in the least amount of time.

Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say?

A: Nonstop learning, understanding people, educating others. Oh that is 6 words. LOL
