Bailey Dempsey Keller Williams Realty

Experience: 3 years Areas Served: Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I became interested in real estate when I realized I was able to use my corporate marketing background and my compassion for people to help families buy and sell their homes. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: After scheduling an open house, we received a contract on the property. The seller was not thrilled with the offer yet accepted it with an addendum that if she received a better offer, the first offer would have 3 days to drop their contingencies or cancel their contract. I received a call the night before the open house that this new caller wanted to buy the house. I asked if she had seen the house in person. She said that she and her sisters found it online and said it was perfect. I wasn't sure if I was being pranked or not, so I invited her and her sisters to come to the open house the next day. When they arrived, it was easy to spot them. Three elderly women who referred to themselves as 'The Golden Girls.' They were charming and had made up their minds that this was their new house. We accepted an offer from them, presented it to the other buyer, who took their 3 days to cancel their contract. The house is now happily inhabited by The Golden Girls. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: My proudest moment was helping an entrepreneur sell his million dollar property for $100,000 more than he thought he could, by negotiating multiple offers. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I never realized how much a good real estate professional has to know about so many varied topics! We need to know construction terms, some tax implications, potential title issues, inspection issues, coastal water issues, negotiation tactics, hyper local information in each community and how to keep everyone communicating throughout the process. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A:  Technology has been a game changer for our industry. Fortunately I love technology. Through Keller Williams we have the best available technology for our customers. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: As a real estate professional, we are here to help guide customers through the process. With over 80 critical steps in a real estate purchase, having professional guidance allows our customers to sleep at night knowing we have their back! Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Professional, detailed, knowledgeable, compassionate, tough.
