Brandie M. Stordahl Century 21 Hometown Brokers

Experience: 3 years Specializations: All buyers and sellers Areas Served: Billings and surrounding areas Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: After 20 years in healthcare, it was time to reinvent myself and join the world of business and connections. I wanted a career where I could still help people. I have a few friends who were in the real estate business and they all truly love what they do so I jumped in. I also do some design work for a home and commercial building business so I can use them together. I love what I do now, every day is different and I am my own boss! This is my dream career. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A:   Nothing too crazy at open houses yet, except for running into old friends who were surprised to see me hosting it and I was not in my nursing scrubs, haha! Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: When my clients say that they could not have done this without me, it melts my heart. I get attached to my clients and always end up considering them friends. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A:  I wish I would have known more about how real estate really works. I just cannot believe it's just a short, self-taught internet course. Considering all of the information we need to know, for legality or not, I believe this profession needs to at least require an associate's degree. I felt as though I went into it blind. I am thankful, however, that my Brokerage, Century 21 has “newbie” and continuing training for six months. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A:  The real estate industry has made me very much more social and I just love it! I am constantly being invited to all kinds of social events and I try to attend as many of them as I can and also volunteer. I also started paying more attention to things politically, as politics strongly affect Real Estate. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: The most challenging part of my job would be competition. Billings is roughly 150,000 in population and there are roughly 1000 realtors. Any given person most likely knows several realtors. I just do my work as good and honest as I possibly can and hope it shows for those who have questions or future plans regarding real estate. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: TOUGHEST JOB I'VE EVER HAD!
