SetSchedule Member Spotlight: Corin Lujan with Keller Williams from Reno, NV!

Corin Lujan Keller Williams

Experience: 3 years Specializations: Residential, multi-family sales. Areas Served: Reno, Sparks and Northern Nevada in general Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I bought and sold 4 homes as a single mom after my divorce 15 years ago. I discovered I love the real estate market and enjoy helping families realize their dream through home ownership. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: At one of my first open houses, the homeowner told me she had 3 cats and not to let any of them out. I let “a cat” inside the house that I thought was the 3rd cat since I only saw 2 cats during the open house. Well, turns out that other cat did NOT belong to the homeowner and was just a stray. Animal Control was called to the property, and the other cat was taken out! Needless to say, the homeowner was not happy with me at all. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: Every time I hand over keys to the new homeowner is always a proud moment for me, especially if they are first time buyers. My most heartwarming and inspiring moments are when I work with aging and elderly homeowners sell their long-time home because it is too big and too overwhelming for them. It’s very hard to ‘change’ especially at this stage of their lives, but those who are brave enough to embrace new adventures are very inspiring to me! Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I wish I had joined a team as soon as I got my license. The learning curve would have been much higher, quicker when there is a support system there for you. Forget the commission split that the team will take. What they provide in return pays off tenfold! Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: More new agents are joining teams right from the start. And there are more teams forming vs. individual agents. Q: What's the most challenging part of your job? A: Finding new prospects and keeping up and following up with current prospects. They forget you (and find another agent!) if you don’t have a system in place that keeps you in contact with them on a regular basis. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Best job I ever had!
