DAMIAN WALLS Long and Foster Silver Spring Downtown

Experience: 10+ years in real estate, mortgage brokerages, and real estate investments Specializations: First-time homebuyers, military personnel, and baby boomers. Areas Served:  Montgomery, Prince George, Howard, Anne Arundel, and Charles County, as well as Washington, D.C. Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I have always had a love for property and home design. As a kid I originally wanted to be an Architect so I could design houses and commercial buildings. When I got to college I became more of a people person so a sales career was the natural progression. Real Estate allowed me to combine my passion for property and housing with being a natural salesman and it has been the best decision I have ever made! Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: I once held an open house and one of the visitors used the toilet, and ended up clogging it. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: Every moment I am able to assist my clients is a proud moment for me, but some are more memorable than others. One of the most heartfelt and best moments for me was being able to assist a family in purchasing a home, after they immigrated here from the Middle East. It was a hard negotiation but I was determined to work it out for them. They were so appreciative and I was able to negotiate very favorable terms and get them their dream home! Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I wish I had known how important an active database and using the right technology is to your success. Every day you learn something different and technology is paramount in organization to make the most efficient use of your time. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: The biggest change I have seen is the growing pool of buyers. In the DC Metro region, the inventory levels have created a seller's market and the demand for housing increases every year; meaning we are seeing more qualified buyers than before but not as many properties available that meet their needs. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: The most challenging part of my job is when I am not able to find the perfect property for my clients. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE!
