A:  I was previously in sales for about 7 years. Real estate always seemed interesting to me but I just never made the jump to get into it. One of my best friends got into real estate and started discussing it with me. That helped my decision to make the leap and I’ve never looked back. I absolutely love it when I have the chance to catch a great property and selling the house as is. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A:   Not too interesting I suppose, but I’ve been so busy at an open house that I didn’t stop talking to people for the whole 3 hours I was there. Not one break. I ended up having about 34 people come through, it was pure chaos, which was awesome! Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: You have so many. We are in the business of helping people find and move into their dream home. The best feeling in the world is handing families over the keys to their new house, and them just being so appreciative of everything you did for them. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A:  Appreciate the struggle at the beginning. It’s so difficult to get into the business and immediately start doing well. The struggle is where you will grow the most. Never stop learning, being uncomfortable in our business is a sign of constant growth. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A:  When I first go into real estate in 2013, the markets were in a steady increase. In 2014, it was arguably the hottest it has ever been. AND THEN, the oil crisis happened in 2015 which dropped the market down quite a bit. The number 1 thing that you learn during this down market is that as long as you continue to put in the work, you will continue to see results. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: As realtors, we go through so many stages through the whole home buyer/selling process. A lot of things happen behind the scenes that our clients don’t even know about. The most challenging part would be just guiding our clients through those stressful times while making sure they are comfortable throughout it. Our number 1 goal is to make sure that our clients are as comfortable and confident throughout the process as possible. A good joke in real estate is that we are “firemen” because we are constantly putting out fires behind the scene. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Most stressful, rewarding job!
