Q: What made you become interested in real estate?

A: I have been interested in Real Estate as a teenager and took a course while attending high school

Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted?

A:  After the open house was over I was locking up and walking around the pool when my cell phone fell into and sank to the bottom of the pool. It did not survive.

Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far?

A: I was working with a seller to sell his home and to work with them to purchase a new home. He had unresolved finances with his ex-wife who surfaced. What could have been an easy fix turned into a nightmare. By the time we were all through, there were 7 attorneys, 2 hearings, 3 Real Estate agents, 2 title companies, 2 mortgage companies and countless others who had to work diligently to resolve all of the issues. In the long run after several delays, my clients were able to sell their old home and move into a new one. It worked out in the end and everyone was happy.

Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started?

A:  The industry is changing rapidly. I recall from when I was a teenager, Realtors would have books the size of telephone books that were printed weekly. There were no cell phones or electronic signatures, there were no computers, Zillow or realtor.com. With all of these changes and new apps that come on the market, it makes it possible to work quicker and smarter.

Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job?

A: Getting the consumer to trust that Realtors are the professionals.

Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say?

A: Be knowledgeable, professional, courteous and caring.
