A: My business and personal dedication is serving people to help them achieve their goals. Prior to my getting licensed, my family and I needed to move so we enlisted a real estate broker, and during that process it became obvious there was a great need for someone like myself who actually “cared” about the people they were representing; someone who would protect the client’s best interests in one of the biggest financial decisions they would ever make. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A:   A gentleman proposed to his future bride, and we celebrated with them buying the home. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: I helped a wonderful couple get qualified for their mortgage, so they could achieve their dream of owning their very first home. They had been to several lenders who all said no for one reason or another. My preferred lenders are specialists, and I work with them because they can get the job done for my clients. That diligence gave them the opportunity they deserved, resulting in another dream come true. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A:  How financial institutions operate and the processes that exist for individuals to qualify for mortgages. Too many times I have seen lenders take advantage of their customers. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A:  Inventory levels (really high to really low) and the financing programs available to home buyers. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: Building and maintaining a referral network that will support working full-time as a real estate broker. People don’t typically call a real estate agent to buy or sell their home by looking one up on the internet or in the yellow/white pages.  It is usually from the referral of a family member or friend. RE is a 100% referral-based profession, and without the support of previous clients and their family and friends providing those referrals it is virtually impossible to maintain a full-time real estate practice. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: “Making Dreams Happen Every Day”
