Things to do: Seller’s Checklist for 2022

As the New Year starts, potential home buyers are taking advantage of the historically low mortgage rates during the starting months of each year. Meanwhile, sellers are also at an advantage due to the fast turnaround time. Having that said, sellers should be quick and on point in their listings. Here is a to-do list to make sure that your property is enticing to potential buyers.

Living Room

Keep it tidy and organized. Use pillows and throws to soften the space. Clear out any smudges on your coffee table. You may also use reading materials and a flower vase as an add-on to your coffee table design but do not over exaggerate, keep it to a minimum. Invest in curtains and carpets that will blend into the living room paint color.

Kitchen

Make sure to remove the unwanted stains on your Stove, Oven, and Microwave. Remove and replace any items that might undervalue the look of your kitchen. Clear your countertops and make sure to remove any magnets and notes sticking in your fridge. Ultimately, scrub and clean your kitchen sink. It’s a small thing to do but will definitely make an impact on your kitchen looks.

Dining Room

If you have a wood or glass top dining table, make sure to wipe any smudges as glass and wood can be fingerprint magnets. Remove any extra chairs from the dining room and keep them to a minimum of 4-6.

Bedrooms

Make sure that beds are tucked in properly. Make the room brighter by using light accents on your pillowcases and sheets. Clear all bedside tables and if you have a lamp, wipe the dust in the bulb as it can be one of the forgotten things to clean. Check the corners as they may have cobwebs. Lastly, make sure that the closets are nice and neat.

Bathrooms

Ah yes! If you spend more time in bathrooms you need to bring your A-game in cleaning. Clean and scrub your bathtubs. Some people use a microfiber cloth and distilled white vinegar when deep cleaning bathrooms. You may also remove the showerhead and place it in a plastic bag with vinegar and let it settle for a couple of minutes. This will remove the limescale deposits that can’t be done by cleaning materials. Make sure that mirrors are wiped clean of moisture. Make sure that you wash the bathroom thoroughly in running water to remove the smell of the vinegar. Add mild fragrance to your bathroom.

Ultimately, hiring a stager can help you add style and furnish your property in such a way as to enhance its attractiveness to potential buyers. Take advantage of the Seller market!
