Experience: More than 15 years of negotiation and project management experience. Specializations: First-time homebuyers, relocations. Areas Served: Fresno/Clovis/Madera as well as the Bay Area and Southern California Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I wanted a career in Real Estate for as long as I can remember. My dad was a Real Estate agent, my best friend's mom was a Real Estate agent, and my best friend worked in Real Estate both as an agent and as a Mortgage broker and loan officer.  I’ve purchased several homes myself over the years, know all about taxes on selling a house, and I've helped my friends and family understand and navigate the Real Estate transaction process.  It's fascinating, complex and extremely fulfilling! Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A:   Every Open House is interesting because people are interesting. I love meeting new people and learning about what they like, what they don't like and what their perceptions are regarding the house I'm showing. I enjoy learning about what makes them who they are, because selling a house it's not all about the property, on the contrary, is all about the people involved. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: I was working a deal for one of my buyers, and the house they had made an offer on was a For Sale By Owner, so I was working directly with him for my buyer.  We built a great rapport during the negotiations. When the transaction was over, he called me and asked me to help him find a new house for his family. Then he called me and said: "Listen Rhonda, I need to sell my house fast!", so I became his agent!    Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A:   I wished I had done more investigating regarding the different opportunities and the different brokerages offer. In the beginning, this can be difficult, because you don't know... what you don't know, so it's hard to ask the correct questions. Luckily I'm a very quick study! Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A:  I've been involved in the Real Estate Industry as an agent, client and through personal relationships for over 30 years.  There have been too many changes to list them all here, but the one thing I do know is that this industry, like many, runs in cycles. You have good cycles, great cycles and challenging cycles.  The challenging cycles will stretch you to make changes and look for the opportunities it will bring. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: The most challenging part of my job, is making sure everyone involved in the transaction is communicating effectively!  I live by a quote that George Bernard Shaw said, "The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: The most rewarding career EVER!
